CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers are adding a huge presence on their defense who is more than familiar with the Charlotte area.
Jadeveon Clowney signed a contract with the Panthers on Wednesday, according to the team. It's a two-year deal for $20 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rappaport.
Clowney graduated from South Pointe High School in Rock Hill and became a dynamic linebacker at the University of South Carolina.
The Houston Texans selected Clowney with the first pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He went on to make three pro bowls with the team.
Clowney has played on four teams since 2019 but continues to perform at a high level. In 2023, Clowney matched his career high with 9.5 sacks in his only season with the Baltimore Ravens.
