The Cardinals defeated a familiar foe in Hammond 4-0 behind a Grayson White hat trick.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — For the fifth consecutive season, the SCISA soccer playoffs ended with Cardinal Newman hoisting the state championship trophy.

Grayson White registered a hat trick in leading the Cardinals to a 4-0 victory over Hammond on the Skyhaws' home field at Edens Stadium.

For head coach Will Eudy, this marks the first time he has guided a Cardinal Newman team to an undefeated season. The Cardinals went 19-0-1 and are currently ranked 20th in the country.

In the SCHSL 2A state championship match, Gray Collegiate Academy lost to Oceanside Collegiate 3-0 in what was the War Eagles' third consecutive runner-up finish in the state playoffs.
