Google to bring hundreds of jobs to South Carolina with $3.3 billion investment

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Hundreds of new jobs could be coming to South CarolinaGoogle announced it will expand an existing data center campus and add two new campuses in Berkeley and Dorchester counties.

The tech giant will invest $3.3 billion at all three locations, with $1.3 billion earmarked for expanding Google's existing data center and supporting continued job growth in Mount Holly Commerce Park in Moncks Corner in Berkeley County.

The remaining $2 billion will establish data center campuses in the Pine Hill Business Campus in Ridgeville and Winding Woods Commerce Park in St. George. The new locations are expected to create 200 new operational jobs.

The data centers will support the growing demand for Google's cloud services and artificial intelligence (AI).
