CAYCE, S.C. — Cayce Police are asking drivers to avoid the area as they investigate a deadly crash that happened on Saturday night along a busy road.
According to a spokesperson for the Cayce Police Department, the crash happened in front of Three Fountains Skating Rink at 2724 Emanuel Church Road.
Police said that, around 8 p.m., a vehicle was leaving the parking lot of the rink when, as the driver pulled onto Emanual Church Road, a motorcyclist heading toward Old Barnwell Road collided with it.
The crash killed the motorcyclist. Police said the other driver was uninjured. Cayce Police have since brought their Accident Reconstruction Team to the scene. Preliminary investigation suggests speed may have been a contributing factor.
The name of the motorcyclist was not released with police deferring to the Lexington County Coroner's Office to provide it.
There was no estimate provided regarding when roads would reopen. However, the police did say they would provide more information as it becomes available.
