LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Interstate 26 near Springdale in Lexington County has reopened after a tractor-trailer crash blocked all lanes early Tuesday morning.
A tractor trailer overturned in the eastbound lanes of I-26 blocked near mile marker 112, between Exit 111/US-1 and Exit 113/Durham Drive. That's between the US and Columbia Metropolitan Airport exit.
As a result, all lanes were blocked for several hours as crews worked to removed the wreckage. By 11:45 a.m. one eastbound lane reopened.
Eventually over the next two hours other lanes reopened until traffic began to flow normally again.
Commuters were asked to use caution in the area and seek alternate routes.
