The crash happened around 2 a.m. on U.S. Hwy. 378. The victim died at the scene, officials said.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Sumter County Coroner says a Columbia woman has died after a Sunday morning crash.

Coroner Robbie Baker said the crash happened around 2 a.m. near U.S. Hwy. 378 and State Hwy. 261 South (S. Kings Highway). The South Carolina Highway Patrol, which Baker said is investigating the crash, has not released any specifics about what happened.

However, the coroner said 48-year-old Monica Wright died at the scene from injuries she sustained when she was involved in a crash with another vehicle. Baker said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
