AIKEN, S.C. — A Graniteville man has been identified as the person killed in a Thursday morning crash in Aiken County.
Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said that the crash happened just before noon on Thursday in the 700 block of Old Tory Trail and involved a 2000 Ford Ranger.
Ables said that the truck was heading south on the road when it ran off the road, hit a culvert, and then ejected the 70-year-old victim, identified as Gary L. Todd.
The coroner said Todd was not wearing a seatbelt in the crash. At this time, no autopsy is scheduled but toxicology results are pending.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
