Coroner identifies pedestrian killed in Charleston Highway accident

CAYCE, S.C. — Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person killed during a pedestrian versus vehicle accident on Monday, March 18, 2024.

The accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of Charleston Highway in Cayce. The pedestrian, identified as 40-year-old Brett Sterling Lamb, of Cayce, was walking across the highway when he was hit by a vehicle travelling northbound.

Lamb was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. The driver of the vehicle did stop and remained at the scene and was not injured.

Lexington County Coroner's Office and Cayce Police continue to investigate the incident.
