Coroner identifies victim in fatal Lexington County collision

68-year-old died in accident near Swansea Sunday afternoon

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim of a fatal collision that occurred Sunday afternoon near Swansea.

Marion Phillip Glymph, 68, of Lexington, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Hwy 6 and Martin Neese Road.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of SC-6 and Martin Neese Road near Swansea. A 2015 Nissan SUV was traveling east on SC-6 and a 2003 Dodge van was traveling north on Martin Neese Road and collided at the intersection.

The driver and passenger in the Nissan were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Glymph, who was the driver of the Dodge van and was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

SCHP is investigating the incident.
