LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — All lanes of I-26 eastbound have reopened after a crash that completely blocked traffic initially.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol live traffic map, the crash happened around 7:20 p.m. near St. Andrews Road. Lanes were initially all closed until about 8 p.m. when two lanes opened. Around 8:20 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
During the crash cleanup, traffic cameras showed gridlock trailing back as far as Harbison Boulevard with some drivers taking to the emergency lanes to get to an exit.
No specifics have been released by the South Carolina Highway Patrol regarding the crash itself, the number of injuries, or their severity.
