NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a driver on Saturday night.
Lance Corporal William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on Long Road, roughly three miles south of Prosperity in Newberry County.
Bennett said a 2000 Acura sedan was heading west when it went off the road to the right, then went to the left and hit a tree. Emergency medical services took the driver to Prisma Health Richland Hospital, where they died from their injuries.
The Newberry County Coroner's Office hasn't released the victim's name publicly. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
