COLUMBIA, S.C. — Westbound drivers on I-20 are moving again after a crash on Columbia's north side was cleared.
According to maps and cameras from the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 near Broad River Road and initially had all lanes on that side of the interstate blocked.
Traffic was initially backed up two-thirds of the way to Monticello Road. However, as of about 8 p.m. lanes have reopened. Even with lanes reopened, drivers on I-20 westbound should expect residual slowdowns in the area. Drivers heading toward Columbia on Broad River Road may also continue seeing some slowdowns.
No details regarding the accident itself are currently available. Cameras show law enforcement and other crews already at the scene.
