ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — An overnight interstate crash in Orangeburg County left one person dead on Sunday, officials say.

Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened on I-26 near the 141-mile marker, which is roughly two miles from the Burke Road exit to St. Matthews. Pye said a 2004 Chevrolet sedan was heading east on I-26 when it traveled off the right side of the road and flipped. The driver was the only person in the car and died.

Pye said the Orangeburg County Coroner's Office would be responsible for releasing the name of the victim, adding that the South Carolina Highway Patrol was still investigating the crash.
