RIDGEVILLE, S.C. — The Dorchester County Coroner's Office has released the name of an 85-year-old Eutawville woman found dead along with a submerged vehicle on Friday morning.
Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said Doris T. Gallardo was found in a pond near the Walmart distribution center in Ridgeville on Friday around 7 a.m.The coroner's office pronounced her dead at the scene just before 10 a.m. An autopsy has since been conducted, and the woman's cause of death was drowning. Her manner of death was ruled accidental.
The coroner said the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is also investigating the incident. No additional details about what preceded the death or how she was found were available at the time.
