LUGOFF, S.C. — The Kershaw County Sheriff's Office wants motorists to know the US-1 bridge over the Wateree River, between Lugoff to Camden, that crews from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will be working on the bridge around 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 26.
Work has since been completed and all lanes are now open, the work comes after the bridge has been cut down to one lane for several months.
News19 spoke with a spokesperson for SCDOT about the project, "Work is going to continue under the bridge, we still encourage people to slow down,".
They add there will be additional paving on the project, but did not provide an exact date or timeline and said any closures would be "temporary".
