FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is working to determine the details behind a motorcycle crash that happened late Friday night near the Fairfield County airport.
According to Master Trooper Brian Lee, the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Hinnants Store Road (SC-269) near Runway Road about three miles south of Winnsboro.
According to Lee, a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle was heading south on Hinnants Store Road when it ran off the road to the right. The rider fell from the motorcycle as it crashed and died as a result.
The Highway Patrol did not identify the victim, deferring to the Fairfield County Coroner's Office for additional information.
