As of 9:20 a.m., one lane of I-95 northbound had reopened. Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley said South Carolina Highway Patrol was handling the incident but traffic appears to be backed up about 4 miles in Orangeburg County.
Around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, a tractor trailer caught fire, blocking all northbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 101. That is near Lake Marion in Clarendon County. The incident caused all northbound lanes to close.
Clarendon County Fire Rescue was on the scene, travelers in the area were told to expect delays. As of 7:45 a.m., traffic was backed up to the US-310/SC6 Connector.
No injuries have been reported.
The tractor trailer was hauling a load of watermelons when one of the trailer's tires caught fire, disabling the vehicle.
