Image of vehicle in Two Notch Road fatal hit-and-run released

South Carolina Highway Patrol searching for vehicle shown in surveillance video from June 12 incident

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Investigators with South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) have released an image of a vehicle suspected to be the one involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Richland County. 

On June 12, at approximately 12:55 a.m., an unknown vehicle traveling north on Two Notch Road struck a man walking along Two Notch Road causing fatal injuries. Investigators say the vehicle then left the scene. The incident took place on Two Notch near the intersection of O'Neil Court.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as 45-year-old Gabriel D. Taber of Eastover.  

Surveillance video from that early morning shows a burgundy or maroon colored truck with a white or light colored camper shell. The truck, make and model unknown, should have damage to the front and/or passenger side of the vehicle.
