The crash happened near the Bush River Road exit.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have identified a Lexington man who died following a Friday night motorcycle crash in Lexington County.

Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on westbound I-20 near mile marker 63, the Bush River Road exit, about five miles outside of Irmo.

Glover said a Yamaha motorcycle was heading west on the highway when it traveled off the right side of the road and hit a guardrail. The motorcycle rider, later identified as 21-year-old Patrick Riley Prewitt, died at the scene, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher. Fisher said Prewitt was wearing a helmet at the time.
