LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say one person is dead and two others injured following a crash in Lexington County on Sunday afternoon.
Master Trooper William Bennett with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on South Lake Drive near Paps Drive south of Lexington.
Bennett said a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle was heading east on South Lake Drive, and a 2003 Chevrolet SUV was heading west when they collided.
The motorcyclist was taken to Lexington Medical Center for treatment but died. Bennett said there were four people in the SUV, and two were taken to Lexington Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Bennett said the Lexington County Coroner's Office would be responsible for releasing the name of the deceased rider. Troopers are still investigating the crash.
