COLUMBIA, S.C. — Some drivers in Columbia were being warned to find an alternate route on Saturday after an incident involving a truck and a bridge.
Columbia Police said that the eastbound side of Assembly and Whaley streets had to be temporarily closed after a moving truck got stuck underneath a nearby rail bridge.
There were no reported injuries at this time but police were on the scene to help with traffic control in the area.
Photos from the scene showed a sizable moving truck trailer wedged about halfway under the bridge with what appears to be a portion of the roof - or a liner on top of it - peeled partially off.
It's unclear when the truck was finally removed from underneath the bridge.
