LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A driver has been injured and a passenger killed in a crash that happened early Sunday morning in Lexington County.
Lance Corporal Tyler Tidwell with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 7 a.m. on Old Dunbar Road and involved a 2015 Peterbilt tractor-trailer and a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.
Tidwell said the crash happened near Burroughs Avenue when the Chevrolet struck the back of the tractor-trailer. The resulting crash sent the driver of the Chevrolet to Prisma Health Richland for treatment and killed the passenger. A driver and passenger in the tractor-trailer were not injured.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released by the Lexington County Coroner pending notification of that person's family.
