LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Lexington County as a hit-and-run, officials said late Saturday.
SCHP Corporal Nick Pye said the crash happened around 7:10 p.m. on Hartley Quarter Road near S.C. 302 (Pine Street), south of Pelion. Pye said a pedestrian was walking west along Hartley Quarter Road when they were hit by an unknown vehicle that was also traveling west.
The pedestrian died from injuries suffered in the crash. Authorities didn't have any additional information on the crash and said the Lexington County Coroner's Office would be responsible for releasing the name of the victim.
