COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced a portion of Rice Meadow Way in northeast Richland County will close for construction beginning at 7 a.m. on Dec. 5.
Starting Tuesday morning, the east entrance to Rice Meadow Way from Hardscrabble Road will be closed for the Hard Scrabble Road widening project. Construction will include drain installation and paving along 400 feet of Rice Meadow Way.
The closure is expected to last through the week, with reopening scheduled for 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8.
Motorists are asked to use caution in the area and to follow the marked detour route. Southbound traffic along Hard Scrabble can continue toward Lee Road, turn right, and continue west toward Rice Creek Farms Road. Drivers can turn right and arrive at the west entrance of Rice Meadow Way.
