RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Maps show I-20 has reopened after a lengthy investigation initially closed eastbound lanes in Richland County on Sunday morning.
Master Trooper Gary Miller with the South Carolina Highway Patrol announced Sunday morning that troopers were investigating a crash in the eastbound interstate lanes near the 70-mile marker. Additional details about the crash weren't available then, but Miller said the roadway was blocked, and a detour was in place.
At 10 a.m., South Carolina Department of Transportation maps showed heavy congestion and the roadway shut down near the Fairfield Road intersection. However, the same maps show that congestion has cleared.
