Richland Two school bus involved in accident on Farrow Road, bus was empty at time of accident

Bus driver reported minor injuries, no students were on the bus

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A Richland School District Two bus was involved in an accident early Monday morning near the intersection of Killian Lakes Drive/Longtown Road and Farrow Road in northeast Richland County. 

No students were on the bus at the time of the accident, the bus driver reported minor injuries as a result of the crash.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the school bus was traveling west on Longtown Road around 6:56 a.m. when it was hit by a 1998 Toyota sedan that was traveling south on Farrow Road. The bus traveled across the intersection from Longtown Road and hit a utility pole and a street sign on Killian Lakes Drive.

The school bus driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the driver of the Toyota was not injured. The driver of the Toyota was charged with disregarding a traffic control device (running a red light).
