COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) wants motorists to know there will be a temporary closing of the Colonial Life Boulevard and I-126 interchange beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 25. Traffic will be rerouted in the area until 5 a.m. Thursday, September 26.
If you need to access I-126 eastbound from Colonial Life Boulevard, you will be detoured to Broad River Road and then to the Greystone Boulevard/I-126 interchange.
The overnight closure is part of Phase 1 of the Carolina Crossroads Project and will allow SCDOT to continue construction of the expanded Colonial Life Boulevard interchange.
All work is subject to change based on weather conditions.
Drivers should follow signage in the area, use caution and expect some delays.
