NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — Drivers on I-26 heading east should expect delays due to a tractor-trailer fire and fuel leak that is still being cleaned up in Newberry County.

The incident happened near mile marker 81 on I-26 East. Authorities haven't provided a clearance time or any additional details about the fire. However, the sheriff's office said the backup caused by the crash is impacting other routes as well. These include S.C. 219, U.S. 76, and U.S. 176.

Eastbound drivers in the area should plan ahead and avoid the interstate if possible. Drivers on nearby routes should also use caution. Check back for updates as they become available.
