CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. — A woman has died following a Saturday night crash in Calhoun County, authorities confirm.
According to Lance Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened in the area of SC-6 (Caw Caw Highway) and Bridalwreath Drive just before 10 p.m.
Based on preliminary reports, a 2023 Hyundai SUV was heading west on Caw Caw Highway when it ran off the road to the left and struck a tree.
The crash killed the driver, identified by the Calhoun County Coroner's Office as 28-year-old Kenya Williams of Orangeburg.
No further details were publically available regarding the crash as of Sunday morning. The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
