RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Drivers on westbound I-20 near I-77 may want to find an alternate route as crews works to clear an accident that happened on Saturday morning.
According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the crash currently has all westbound lanes of I-20 blocked one mile west of Exit 76.
While traffic cameras don't show the accident itself, at least two show early morning traffic beginning to gradually amass near the accident scene. One viewer has since shared an image taken around 7:30 a.m. that shows at least one, possibly two, tractor-trailers with heavy damage.
The nearest camera shows traffic moving but is limited to roughly two lanes in the area. The details of the crash have not yet been released.
