GREENVILLE, S.C. — Some South Carolina cities are regulars on national lists for food, history, and charm, but a new list is recognizing a Palmetto State town on a global level.
CNN released 12 handpicked destinations for travel this week as recommended places to visit for fall. Among them are locales like Mexico City, Madrid, and Egypt. But one of the only locations in the continental United States that made the cut was Greenville.
According to CNN, Greenville is "a small city set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains" and "is a great hub from which to see southern leaves take a bow."
Among the best sights listed for fall weather are Paris Mountain, Table Rock, and Caesars Head state parks. However, CNN also makes mention of a Columbia-area staple, Congaree National Park, for those willing to make the two-hour detour.
