COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Travelers flying into or out of Columbia may experience delays due to a power outage at the city's primary airport.
Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) reports a complete power failure "on the airside of the terminal."
"Currently, we are operating with our emergency lights and our team is working as quickly as possible to troubleshoot the issue in order to get the power restored," a message from the airport said.
The statement said inbound and outbound flights are still operational but may be delayed.
"Passengers will board and de-board by utilizing ground access," the statement said. "We do recommend checking your airline app for the most accurate flight information prior to arriving at CAE today."
The terminal announcement confirmed the unavailability of concessions and air conditioning, both affected by the outage. Red Eye Express coffee kiosk remains operational, providing services to passengers affected by the outage.
The airport apologized for the inconvenience and said crews are working to restore power.
