Parking rates to rise at Columbia Metropolitan Airport beginning May 1

Columbia Metropolitan Airport to raise rates on parking to support ongoing updates

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Visitors to Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) will soon see an increase in parking rates in both the surface and garage parking lots.

The changes come as a way to support ongoing updates to CAE's parking facilities and features.

Beginning May 1, 2024, Surface parking will rise to $12 from $10 a day, and the Garage parking will change from $14 to $17 a day. CAE will honor any pre-booked parking reservations made prior to May 1 at the lower rate.

Handicap parking will remain free for the first day of parking with valid credentials, with all subsequent days charged at the regular rate of the chosen lot.

Some of the new features at CAE that will benefit from the rate increase include:

  • ParkMobile, a contactless parking management system that can be used at the Surface and Garage parking lots. Users can download the ParkMobile app then upload payment information. At the end of your trip, a QR code is sent to the user's mobile device and used in the exit lane indicated by overhead signage to exit the parking lot.
  • a second ADA accessible elevator in the Garage parking lot
  • ongoing operation of a pre-book parking software and platform management system
  • general maintenance of the Garage parking lot
  • regular landscaping of both Surface and Garage lots
