COLUMBIA, S.C. — Over half of the days so far this month have been in the 60s and 70s making for a much warmer stretch of weather compared to our chilly January. Looking forward things look to be staying mild and very spring-like as we close out the month of February.
This week, we will see temperatures climbing into the lower to middle 70s thanks to high pressure of the Atlantic coast. Winds from this will pull in much warmer southerly air helping us see potentially some of the warmest weather so far this month.
Along with these warmer temperatures we are seeing a pretty big increase in our pollen levels across the Midlands. Taking a look at the forecast for this week, the pollen count continues to go up each day reaching medium to medium-high categories. For allergy suffers this is just the beginning as trees like Pine have yet to get going yet for this year.

As we get closer and closer to the end of winter some things will begin to change. Looking at our daylight we have already added about an hour's worth of sunlight and by the first day of Spring (March 20th) we will be adding an additional hour of daytime.
Taking a glance at what is to come, the weather looks to remain on the warmer side through the end of the month. If we do see any colder weather it will likely come in the form of chilly mornings. Our average last freezing morning is typically around March 23rd so we still have some time based off of historical precedence.
