Cool and dry weather to start the New Year

Temperatures will be near average as we ring in 2020 on Tuesday night with mostly clear skies perfect for Famously Hot New Year in Columbia.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — After a rainy weekend across the Midlands, cool and dry air is moving into our area behind the cold front and will leave nice conditions for the holiday this week.

New Years Eve will be sunny across the region with high temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60°.

By the time we ring in the New Year at Famously Hot New Year in downtown Columbia, temperatures will be in the low 40s, so definitely grab your jacket for any outdoor celebrations. Skies will be mostly clear throughout the night.

New Years Day will also be mostly sunny and nice with high temperatures in the upper 50s.
