COLUMBIA, S.C. — Crews were out on Saturday morning to work on upgrades on the KCAE radar site.
The radar which is used by the National Weather Service here in Columbia was taken apart by crews and a crane. The dome was temporarily removed as a new pedestal was put on top of the tower. The upgrades are made to keep the radar in service for long into the future.
