COLUMBIA, S.C. — We kicked off the Month of July with the Full Moon and we got plenty of pictures from out WLTX Weather Watchers. This includes some photos that we got below of the Full Moon from the beginning of June.
The beginning of the month will provide some great opportunities to view the planet Saturn.
On the morning of the 7th, you can view Saturn with the Moon in our eastern sky.
Going into next week we will have a few chances to see the International Space Station over the Midlands the first pass will be on the night of July 10th.
If you are heading to a dark spot the Milky Way will still be visible this month, especially towards the middle of July.
If you are looking for easy constellations to find this month Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, which contain the Big Dipper and the North Star Polaris are in the Northwest sky early at night.
Weather conditions should be okay this week for stargazing but this will be heavily dependent on any storms that form later on in the day that could cause cloudiness.
If you have any photos, videos, or questions you can send them in online. We would love to share your images in the next night sky update in August!
