COLUMBIA, S.C. — November brings a cloudier landscape across much of the country, including South Carolina.
Weather Channel meteorological reports predict 40% to 60% cloud coverage in the state this month. Often, this shift in cloud cover affects the mood and feel of our outdoor environment.
During the transition from summer to winter, the fall months can be associated with severe weather. While tornado events generally occur in the Deep South, where warm, humid conditions are more prevalent, they can extend further. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, in November 2022, 68 tornadoes were reported, primarily in the southern regions.
Hurricane season in the Atlantic will officially conclude at the end of November. While it doesn't guarantee an end to the storms, it significantly reduces the risk of tropical storms and hurricanes.
