South Carolina sunny, dry weather continues this week

Temperatures will be above normal for the workweek. Things should cool a little by Sunday.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — A dominant high-pressure system is settling over the eastern U.S., which will keep things dry and warm throughout the week. Expect daytime temperatures to range from the upper 70s to lower 80s in most areas, slightly above normal for this time of year. However, a cold front is expected to pass through the Southeast later in the weekend, bringing temperatures back to more typical levels.

The key takeaway for tonight is the continuation of warm, dry weather. Clear skies are expected, with temperatures gradually dipping into the low to mid-40s overnight.

High pressure continues to control the weather pattern, so tomorrow will bring another sunny day with light winds. Temperatures are expected to rise slightly, with most areas reaching the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.

Tropical Storm Oscar is moving north, pushing some moisture towards the region. This could slightly raise overnight temperatures, especially in the eastern parts of the Midlands and southern areas. Expect lows to be in the mid-40s to low 50s by morning.

In the next few days, the warm and dry conditions will continue. High pressure remains in place, and daytime temperatures will gradually rise a few degrees each day. Moisture from a system in the Caribbean will push towards the region, but any associated rain is expected to stay offshore. This increased moisture might result in slightly warmer overnight lows.

For the second half of the week, the high pressure will stick around, but a weak cold front is expected to move through the Southeast. This front will likely be dry, but there is a small chance of a few showers in the easternmost areas by Wednesday.
