Spooky warm South Carolina Halloween weather

Our in-house forecast model paints in a stray shower for parts of the Midlands this evening, but organized rainfall is not expected.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Today will be unseasonably warm for Halloween. Highs will return to the lower 80s under partly cloudy skies. The above-normal temperatures will continue over the next seven days.

Wednesday was partly cloudy and warm. High temperatures were in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Columbia airport had a high temperature of 80 degrees.

The Columbia airport has only received a trace of rain so far this month. If we do not get any measurable rainfall, this month will end up being tied for the driest month on record in Columbia. The last time South Carolina got any substantial rainfall was September 27. That was in association with Hurricane Helene.
