COLUMBIA, S.C. — As we start the last week of 2021 it will be feeling a lot more like Spring than Winter across the Midlands. Sunday, we hit a high of 78° which broke the record at the Columbia airport which was set back on December 26th of 1964.

While it is unlikely that we break any records over the coming weeks we will be seeing some very abnormally warm weather across the Palmetto State. Highs will be consistently around 15-20° above normal here in the Midlands.

As we head towards the middle of the week, rain chances will look to continue across the Midlands. Wednesday, showers will be scattered in nature and as we go into Thursday as moisture increases some thunderstorms look to be possible across the Midlands.

Looking more towards the end of the week, we do stay mild with highs in the lower to Middle 70s. Models right now do show a strong cold front moving through late Sunday and into Monday which could bring temperatures finally back down.
