COLUMBIA, S.C. — November is our first cooler month heading into Winter; this makes for clearer and longer nights, perfect for viewing the night sky.
Before we dive into what you can see, we got plenty of photos of the October full moon from our nighttime weather watchers. Clear skies and nice weather made for perfect viewing of the moon towards the end of the month here in the Midlands.
We can expect one change this month that makes viewing the night sky much easier. Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, which means earlier sunsets will make stargazing possible just a bit earlier in our evenings.
Our nights will be well over 12 hours heading into this month and will provide the perfect opportunity to view things like the moon and Venus on the morning of Nov. 9.
On Nov. 24, the moon will once again be visible with Jupiter in our night sky, which should be very easy to spot above.
At the very end of the month, we will see our full moon for November. This moon is often called the "Frost Moon" thanks to the colder weather that begins to appear again this time of the year.
The weather this week will contain some chilly nights, which provide us with a much clearer atmosphere to view the stars, so overall, the weather will be great.
