Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Expire for Midlands Counties

COLUMBIA, S.C. — All tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings previously in effect for some Midlands counties have expired.

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property, according to the National Weather Service.

A tornado warning was in effect through 1:30 p.m. for southeastern Newberry, northwestern Lexington and northeastern Saluda counties based on possible rotation indicated by radar..

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect through 1:30 p.m. for southeastern Newberry, northwestern Lexington and northeastern Saluda counties including Newberry, Prosperity, Chapin, Little Mountain, Pomaria and Peak.
