Thanksgiving travel forecast | Here's where rain and snow could impact your travel plans

The 11Alive Weather Impact Team is forecasting highs in the 60s with rain possible Thanksgiving Day in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Travel impacts are possible over the next week as several storm systems push across the country.

Thanksgiving Day, a storm system will arrive in the southeast, bringing rain to the forecast for the north Georgia region. Rainfall could begin Thursday morning as well as Thunderstorms. We should dry out for the midday and afternoon.

For the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, which will be televised on 11Alive, rain will be moving in as the morning wears on. The parade will end wet. Highs in New York City on Thursday will be in the mid 40s.

Friday, some snow showers will be possible over the Great Lakes and plenty of lake effect snow sets up to start the weekend as well!

Lake Effect snow showers dominate the Great Lakes region through the weekend, but cold/dry weather will take hold of the rest of the northeast to southeast and back to the Plains for the next several days.
