COLUMBIA, S.C. — The wet weather just doesn't seem to go away. We are seeing widespread rain to start off the day in the Midlands. Moderate and heavy rain continues to fall and looks to last through at least midday here in the Midlands.
We can thank a weak area of low pressure along a stalled front for all of the rain this morning. The low is moving to the northeast along this front and should bring all of the rain along with it.
With all of this rainy and cloudy weather, highs should be right around 80 degrees as we get into the afternoon.
As we go towards the afternoon, rain chances look to become more scattered with cloudy weather keeping any rain from becoming too strong.
Friday continues to keep rain in the forecast as the stalled front sticks around in the area. Highs will be a little bit warmer in the middle 80s.
This weekend, we see slightly lower rain chances on Saturday as a cold front approaches the area. Like our last few fronts, this one is expected to stall out in the area which will keep rain chances elevated each afternoon. Sunday looks to be the better chance of rain for the weekend.
