An Aiken County property owner found a man dead in the woods. On Sunday, the coroner revealed the victim's name

Authorities in Aiken County and nearby Richmond County in Georgia are investigating the death.

AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. — The Aiken County Coroner's Office has released the name of a man whose body was found in the woods by a property owner on Saturday evening.

Coroner Darryl Ables, who described the death as suspicious, said 31-year-old Demon A. Parrish of Augusta was found in the 3500 block of Silver Bluff Road near Atomic Road around 6 p.m.

Further details about the discovery and Parrish's death are still under investigation and weren't released. Ables said Parrish will undergo an autopsy in Newberry to determine how he died.

Parish was last seen in the Mill Street area of Augusta on Jan. 8 and was last active on social media the following day, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office in Georgia.

Ables said his office is working alongside the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
