GEORGETOWN, Kentucky — A man who was charged in the torture of a child by Columbia Police and convicted in his absence has been arrested in another state.
Police in Georgetown, Kentucky, announced early Saturday morning that Nathan Ginter was caught along with a woman identified as Riley Pearson, whom police believed he was with. Ginter was first arrested in 2022 for what Police Chief Skip Holbrook described as the "horrific" abuse of a 3-year-old child. Prosecutors would later describe a three-month period during which he harmed the child and a video in which he narrated while doing so.
A judge set his bond at $1 million, and, at some point, he was released. Ginter wasn't in court during the three-day trial that led to a conviction on four counts of unlawful conduct toward a child. A judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Following a days-long search in Kentucky and the offer of a reward of up to $10,000, Ginter and Pearson were taken into custody, police said. Jail records show Ginter in the Scott County Detention Center on two fugitive warrants and charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Pearson was not listed in the system, though Georgetown Police confirmed she was taken into custody.
