Three arrested after drugs, guns found in Sumter

Three guns were found along with methamphetamine, heroin, and marijuana.

SUMTER, S.C. — Sumter County Sheriff’s Office investigators made three arrests and seized marijuana, methamphetamine and heroin during the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Burgess Court in Sumter County on Jan. 29, 2020.

Kevin Brown, 33, Travis Brown, 30 and Ryan Rembert, 28, each face multiple drug charges.

Kevin Brown is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

Travis Brown is charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking methamphetamine over 28 grams, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Ryan Rembert is charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking methamphetamine over 28 grams, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

“Illegal drug operations never stop, but I assure you Sumter County Sheriff’s Office will never stop removing these harmful substances and criminals off the streets,” Sheriff Anthony Dennis said.
