LEE COUNTY, S.C. — Four men are in jail on attempted murder charges after allegedly opening fire on a Lee County home and then running from law enforcement into a neighboring county on Friday morning.
An incident report filed on Friday said that Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a home in the Green Acres subdivision regarding gunfire around 2 a.m. Deputies said they noticed a blue Honda Accord speeding away as they arrived. The report said the vehicle refused to stop for deputies and other law enforcement agencies assisting, leading them on a chase that reached speeds over 100 mph before ending in a crash in Darlington County. Deputies said four people tried to escape on foot into a field and wooded area but were caught and taken to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies returned to the scene, where they investigated gunfire into a home on James Street. Deputies said in the report that they found at least 20 shell casings from two different types of guns and bullet holes in a bedroom window, a door and other parts of the home. The report states multiple people were in the house at the time, but none were hit.
Deputies arrested 22-year-old Kendrick Laronze Cook, 24-year-old Dominke Lamont Hickmon, 30-year-old Devonta Tyquan Pringle and 22-year-old Torion Barreik Taejoun Wright. All four were charged with three counts of attempted murder, discharging firearms into a dwelling and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Pringle was also charged with failing to stop for blue lights - first offense.
Sheriff Daniel Simon said his office is still investigating the incident.
