Woman charged in attack at SC hospital, warrant says victim may be permanently disfigured

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — State agents have arrested a Lee County woman after she allegedly assaulted a female victim at a South Carolina hospital on Wednesday.

According to a statement and warrants secured by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, 28-year-old Bryana Alexus Oliver of Bishopville was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature after an incident that occurred at the Spartanburg Medical Center.

A warrant for the charge states that Oliver was unprovoked when she assaulted an unnamed female victim, striking her with a closed fist multiple times to the face. The warrant states that the victim suffered a right orbital bone fracture, a bilateral fracture to both sides of the nose, and a cornea abrasion to the right eye. The warrant added that the injuries could cause permanent disfigurement.

The Spartanburg Police Department requested SLED investigate the incident. Oliver was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center, and the Seventh Circuit Solicitor's Office will prosecute the case.
